Gladiators Stumble, Lose to Stars
|
The Hollywood Stars locked up a win at Hollywood Grounds, knocking off the Phoenix Gladiators, 8-4. On the mound for Hollywood was left-hander Adam Arent. He played a major role in the triumph. The winner was Arent. He threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Bob Rehm. Hollywood is last in the National Conference West Division with a record of 34-50.
Tim Schellin, who is tied for 9th in the NC in home runs with 19, contributed to the Hollywood win with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"Adam's as tough as he is talented," said Hollywood manager Sean Simmers.
