Manager McClure Told to Take a Hike by Mt. Vernon Sunday, November 10th , 2024 You can't fire the players when times get tough. Dan McClure learned that the hard way today as he was dismissed from his managerial position with the Mt. Vernon Cyclones. Citing a need to "shake things up," a team official said it was time to move on. "We respect what Dan has done for the club and we thank him for his time here, but we just think the future of the Cyclones needs to be handled by someone else and needs to move in a different direction," said club general manager in a prepared statement. For his part, McClure remained upbeat about the decision. "I know it's a business and sometimes you've just got to make a change," he said. "I want to thank Mt. Vernon for the opportunity to manage here." Team officials are expected to announce an interim manager in the next few days. |
