It's Over! Little Rock Defeats Santa Barbara Saturday, October 5th , 2024 For the Little Rock Golden Gophers, it was a joyful time; for the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, it was gloom and doom. With a 6-5 win at Car Ramrod Park, Little Rock closed out the championship 4-1 over Santa Barbara. The Golden Gophers have now won their 1st league championship in franchise history. The streets around the Golden Gophers' stadium were a mob scene, filling quickly with fans, while banners and flags were held high and waved proudly. "It's unbelievable for us, our great fans, and all of Little Rock," said a smiling owner The owner of the Little Rock Golden Gophers. "The guys really put their heart and soul into this season and it paid off for them." In a somewhat somber and dejected Super Troopers clubhouse, manager Jimmy Jacobs said his team "just didn't get the job done." "The Golden Gophers played as good as any team I've seen and deserve to be champions," he said.
