Little Rock Wins League Championship Series
Thursday, September 26th , 2024
The Little Rock Golden Gophers triumphed 3-0 over the Medford Desperados at Little Rock Grounds in the League Championship Series to capture it 4-2.
The victory advanced the Golden Gophers to the World Series.
For his superb play in the series, Golden Gophers third baseman Matt Dean garnered the series MVP trophy, hitting .348, scoring 7 runs and batting in 12.
"Only thing better than getting MVP for winning in the playoffs would be winning MVP for winning in the World Series," Dean said later. "I'll get to work on that."
The Little Rock Golden Gophers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Santa Barbara Super Troopers - Savannah Alpines series. Savannah leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
