Bandy SL1 Selection for 2026 Most Valuable Player Award
Tuesday, October 20th , 2026
At the age of 23, Bill Bandy of the Santa Ana Black Aces could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2026 was good enough to win the left fielder the Sub League 1 Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .365 batting average this year, as well as a .440 on-base percentage. He played 140 games and racked up 221 hits, 52 doubles, 10 triples, 48 home runs, 143 RBIs and 157 runs scored.
He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Pete DiBiaso of the Providence Hex finished second in voting, while Pat Cureton of the Ottawa Lynx finished third.
