Justin Dawson Strokes 3 Home Runs Saturday, August 31st , 2024 Today was a special one for Justin Dawson of the Little Rock Golden Gophers as he slammed three home runs in the 12-11 Golden Gophers win over the Pikeville Cavalry. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Little Rock designated hitter collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 5, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Little Rock Grounds. Justin Dawson hit a two-run home run off Cody Ahern in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jo Uehara in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Bobby Williams in the 8th and flied out in the 10th. Dawson is currently batting .311 with 32 home runs and 99 RBIs. |
