Aurora's Short Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Friday, August 29th , 2025 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. David Short of the Aurora Paints had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate in his team's 15-9 win over the Newport Unicorns at Chanticleers Ballpark. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 21-year-old left fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." David Short doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
