Newport's Lendon Out 6 Months Tuesday, August 12th , 2025 The doctors have spoken and John Lendon of the Newport Unicorns didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old center fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Lendon sustained his season-ending injury during the Julian Jammers game yesterday at Chanticleers Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Newport medical staff reported Lendon had a ruptured achilles tendon and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 months. For the year, Lendon is batting .318 with 134 hits and 9 home runs. He has scored 81 times and driven in 63. |
