5 Hits for Black Aces Grissom Wednesday, July 30th , 2025 Matt Grissom exploded for a barrage of base hits at Warlocks Grounds. The Santa Ana right fielder had a field day in his team's 14-8 triumph over the Waco Warlocks, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Grissom must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Matt Grissom doubled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Mark Galinski in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This season, Grissom has posted a batting average of .335 with 62 hits in 185 at-bats, 13 home runs and 42 RBIs. He has also scored 47 runs, walked 38 times and compiled a .452 OBP.
