Going Once! Twice! Gone Again! 3 HR for Howard Sunday, August 25th , 2024 Jayden Howard went yard three times in a Sikeston Shamrocks victory over the Wichita Panthers at Panthers Park. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Sikeston center fielder went 3-for-4 against Wichita with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Shamrocks to the 8-2 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Jayden Howard hit a two-run home run off Satoshi Nishiyama in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Satoshi Nishiyama in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jesse Soto in the 8th and walked in the 9th. This season, Howard has posted a batting average of .326 with 88 hits in 270 at-bats, 19 home runs and 58 RBIs. He has also scored 64 runs, walked 39 times and compiled a .413 OBP. |
