Koerner Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Sunday, August 23rd , 2026 The Little Rock Golden Gophers may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 3-2, to the Santa Ana Black Aces, but Curt Koerner continued to hit like a god. The catcher collected 2 hits in 2 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Koerner is playing great and is on fire right now," Golden Gophers manager Jose Moreno said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Koerner was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Curt Koerner singled in the 2nd, walked in the 4th and singled in the 7th. In this current campaign Koerner is hitting at a .328 clip with 21 home runs and 85 RBIs. |
