Anaheim-Wichita Brawl, Lopez and Brown Suspended Monday, July 29th , 2024 Yesterday at Panthers Park Antonio Lopez and Chris Brown got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Anaheim Music and Wichita Panthers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Lopez will have to sit out 4 while Brown would be given a 2-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. For the year, Lopez is batting .342 with 41 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 20 times and driven in 18. To date in 13 relief appearances, Brown has recorded no saves while posting an ERA of 11.84 and 11 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched. His totals for the year also include no wins and 3 losses. |
