20-Game Hitting Streak for Benitez Monday, July 29th , 2024 Alex Benitez has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 21-year-old St. Joseph Mighty Mites first baseman extended his streak to 20 games, going 2-for-4 as St. Joseph got the best of the Ottawa Lynx at Mighty Mites Park, 12-5. "Alex has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Mighty Mites manager Chris Houston said. Alex Benitez grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and singled in the 7th. This season, Benitez is hitting .358 with 15 home runs. |
