O'Neill on Fire: 5-for-7 for Carson City Tuesday, August 4th , 2026 A jubilant Dillon O'Neill joined the postgame press conference at Music Grove to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Anaheim Music pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Carson City Miners first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-7 hitting performance, which led to the 13-9 Miners win. "He made it look easy," said Ed Arroyo, manager of the Music. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Dillon O'Neill flied out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Luis Orosco in the 8th, struck out in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off Jose Robles in the 11th.
