Lara Batters Anaheim Big Time
Tuesday, August 4th , 2026
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Carson City's Octavio Lara made it happen against the Music. Everything came together at the plate for the 22-year-old first baseman as he collected 5 hits in 7 at-bats -- and helped the Miners triumph, 13-9, at Music Grove.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Lara said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Octavio Lara grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Josh Van Nice in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Manny Mendez in the 6th, singled in the 8th, walked in the 9th, singled in the 11th and flied out in the 11th.
This season, Lara has posted a batting average of .356 with 62 hits in 174 at-bats, 9 home runs and 26 RBIs. He has also scored 50 runs, walked 38 times and compiled a .468 OBP.
