Wednesday, July 1st , 2026
Newport center fielder Bill Fox keeps on racking up hits every time he plays.
His hitting streak now stands at 20 games after collecting 3 hits at Rivermen Ballpark. The Unicorns earned the 8-4 victory over the Ottawa Lynx.
"I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out," Fox said. "I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've also been a little lucky." Bill Fox singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Zach Heller in the 5th, walked in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season, Fox has delivered 38 hits in 80 at-bats for a .475 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .506 clip and his totals also include 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored. This year Fox has played in 20 games.
