Bandy Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Newport Wednesday, June 24th , 2026 Santa Ana defeated Newport, 7-1, at Chanticleers Ballpark, but saw the 22-game hitting streak of Black Aces left fielder Bill Bandy snapped -- the Unicorns held Bandy hitless in 5 at-bats. "I enjoyed the streak," he said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the win today. That's all that really counts." Looking at his season stats, Bandy has compiled a .363 batting average and a .439 on-base percentage, while hitting 25 home runs and driving in 85 runs. |
