Hearne Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Mighty Mites

Ottawa Lynx first baseman John Hearne left the St. Joseph pitching staff in ruins at Rivermen Ballpark, beating the Mighty Mites, 14-7, with a prodigious three-home run performance.
"The last one was totally unexpected," Hearne told reporters at the press conference following his big game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run, and bang, I got number three."
For the game, the Ottawa first baseman had 4 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 6 and scored 3 runs.
John Hearne grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Bobby Nicholson in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th.
