Aiello Batters St. Joseph for 7 Hits Friday, May 29th , 2026 7 times is the charm -- at least for John Aiello. The Newport Unicorns catcher tore up the St. Joseph Mighty Mites to the tune of 7 hits in 8 at-bats at Mighty Mites Park. The offensive onslaught from Aiello powered the 27-4 Unicorns win. "Aiello was a tough out," St. Joseph manager Chris Houston said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." John Aiello hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th.
