Marquez Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Thursday, June 12th , 2025 No matter what the Newport News Wranglers threw at him, Alex Marquez hit it. He easily handled Wranglers pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Fighting Knights triumph, 8-4, at Fighting Knights Field. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Marquez's quip, Wranglers skipper Chris Rice said he "would take him up on that next time." Alex Marquez singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
