Flynn Blasts 3 into Bleachers Monday, April 29th , 2024 Corpus Christi Texans first baseman Luke Flynn sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Riverside Wolverines, Flynn told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Flynn pushed the Texans past the Wolverines, 25-14. To go along with the homers, he collected 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Flynn told reporters after the game. Luke Flynn flied out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Manny Garcia in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Roberto Diaz in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Sergio Rivera in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. Looking at his present stats, Flynn has compiled a .318 batting average in 16 games with a .430 on-base percentage, while hitting 12 home runs and driving in 24 runs. |
