Friday, May 15th , 2026
Moncton center fielder Travis Grossman had a big day at Mapleton Yards against the Plymouth Rockers. The 20-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 17-0 Mounties triumph over Plymouth.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Grossman said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Travis Grossman singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
This year, Grossman has collected a .270 batting average to date with 34 hits in 126 at-bats, 30 RBIs, 2 home runs and scored 35 times. He has played in 34 games.
