Monster 3-HR Day for Wallick Thursday, June 16th , 2022 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates. Franklin center fielder John Wallick tripled up on the home runs to propel the Cubs to a win, 7-6, at Franklin Park. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Saint Pierre and Miquelon manager Freddy Coss said. "Wallick hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Wallick collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." John Wallick hit a two-run home run off Jeremy Foss in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jeremy Foss in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Gu Tian in the 7th and walked in the 8th. Wallick is hitting .296 this season with 19 home runs, 49 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 47 hits in 159 at-bats. |
