Martinez Hits 3 Homers Against Abingdon Friday, June 3rd , 2022 Whatever Ricky Martinez ate for breakfast before his game against the Abingdon Archers, it gave him some impressive power. The Plymouth third baseman smacked three balls up and out of the park at Reagor Dykes Stadium. His home run barrage helped the Rockers defeat the Archers, 12-3. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 3-for-4, scored 4 times, drove in 3 and put on a display that history will remember. Ricky Martinez flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th. So far this season, Martinez is hitting .298 with 11 home runs, 26 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 42 hits in 141 at-bats and a .438 OBP. |
