Lopez is a Smash Hit: 4 HR Tuesday, May 24th , 2022 Abingdon Archers second baseman Ivan Lopez totally decimated the Franklin Cubs, finishing with 4 home runs in his team's 19-16 win. The Cubs had no answer for Lopez, who finished the day 4-for-7 with 6 RBIs and 5 runs scored. "What can I say? My guys could've shot the ball out of a rifle and he'd probably hit them out anyway," said Franklin skipper Kerry McElree. "There's nothing you can do when a guy gets in that kind of zone, you just hope he cools down some before you have to face him again." When asked about his record performance, Lopez responded, "After the first two I just tried to do everything the same way and it worked." Ivan Lopez struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Bruce in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off George Haughton in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 10th.
