Garnica Bangs 3 HR Against San Bernardino Wednesday, May 18th , 2022 It was a special day for Gabe Garnica, but less so for the Picture Rocks Raptors. Garnica slammed three home runs against the San Bernardino Flight, but the Flight outhit him and got the win by a score of 12-10. "Lately, I been uppercutting the ball too much. I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark," he said to sportswriters after the game. "No big long outs for me in this game -- I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot three times. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Picture Rocks left fielder finished the day at Ballpark of Picture Rocks with 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 7 runs batted in and 4 runs scored. Gabe Garnica hit a two-run home run off Robert Velasquez in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Robert Velasquez in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Alex Avila in the 8th. Looking at his stats this year, Garnica has compiled a .368 batting average, while hitting 19 home runs and driving in 35 runs. He has played in 37 games and scored 31 runs. |
