5-for-5 Day for Nelson Thursday, April 23rd , 2026 Ft. Wayne third baseman Troy Nelson had a big day at Earthquakes Stadium against the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers. The 19-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 7-5 Earthquakes triumph over Sunrise Manor. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Nelson said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Troy Nelson singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Reynaldo Rodriguez in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
