Grasso Slams 3 Deep for Plymouth Saturday, April 15th , 2023 Plymouth Rockers left fielder Justin Grasso almost did it all. He sent three shots out of the ballpark, scored 3 times and drove in 5 runs and had 3 hits in 4 at-bats. The one thing he could not do, however, was lead the Rockers to victory. The Tiverton Colonels escaped with the win, 12-6, despite being on the receiving end of the barrage from Grasso. "I'd be lying if I said I didn't like hitting three homers, but losing takes a little glitter off the game," he admitted to BNN writers after the game. Justin Grasso hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. "When someone hits three home runs, you put yourself in a tough position to win," said Plymouth manager Matt Seipp. "We were lucky to win this one. I don't think it matters how hard you throw, especially in the Northern Conference. If you leave a ball out over the plate to good ABA Rookie League hitters, if they get a bead on you and you leave it over the middle, they're probably going to take a good hack at it." For the season, Grasso is currently batting .205 with 5 home runs and 12 RBIs. In 12 games he has reached base at a .314 rate and scored 9 runs to date. |
