Blast Off! 3 HR for Persons Friday, April 7th , 2023 Adam Persons brutalized the Picture Rocks Raptors pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 8-4 Riverside victory at Ballpark of Picture Rocks. The Riverside Wolverines first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-4 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Adam Persons today," Raptors manager Matt Walker said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Adam Persons flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th. |
