Renstrom Smacks 5 Hits for Texans
Saturday, April 17th , 2021
Corpus Christi right fielder Travis Renstrom went down swinging at Captains Ballpark, knocking out 5 hits even as his Texans fell, 9-8.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Renstrom said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Tulsa Captains. "No offense meant to Tulsa, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the right fielder's improvements, saying Renstrom spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Renstrom agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Travis Renstrom hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
Renstrom is hitting .400 this season with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 4 runs scored. He has 10 hits in 25 at-bats.
