Best SC Reliever Named
Saturday, October 19th , 2024
At the age of 20, Jim Miller says he still has a lot to learn about life in ABA Rookie League.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Crystal Lake Killers reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2024 Southern Conference Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Cedar Bluff, Alabama native said.
For the season, Miller had 5 saves in 47 relief appearances, which totaled 99.2. He fanned 105 betters, while walking 19 and put up a record of 10-4 to go with his 2.44 ERA.
He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Marcos Patino of the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes finished second in voting, while D.J. Nelson of the Crystal Lake Killers finished third.
