Koerner Slams 3 Homers for Earthquakes Wednesday, September 24th , 2025 It was a terrific day for Curt Koerner, who ripped three home runs at Nationals Park, and a disappointing one for the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes who, nevertheless, dropped the game, 9-8, to the Jacksonville Nationals. "He was instant offense," Ft. Wayne skipper Du-sung Moon said. "Curt really put on a show. He more than did his part. We just didn't come through with hits at the right time to win the game." For the day, Koerner collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs. In the postgame press conference he told the reporters he has always liked to hit at Nationals Park. "I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he said. Curt Koerner hit a two-run home run off Alexis Mendez in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Edwin Lozano in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Omar Guerra in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. This season, Koerner has 78 home runs and a .476 batting average. |
