Big Day for Oliva: Swats 5 Hits Sunday, August 31st , 2025 After his 5-hit effort at Cincinnati Grounds was tarnished by San Antonio's 19-17 loss to the Buckeye Local Panthers, catcher Felix Oliva told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win." He didn't get the win, but the 19-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Panthers. "His swing is getting there," said Griffins skipper James Beatty after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Felix did that to perfection and we wasted it." Felix Oliva hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
