Valdez Stretches Hit String to 20 Sunday, August 24th , 2025 Ft. Wayne shortstop Jose Valdez keeps on racking up hits every time he plays. His hitting streak now stands at 20 games after collecting 2 hits at Ballpark of Picture Rocks. The Earthquakes earned the 8-1 victory over the Picture Rocks Raptors. "I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out," Valdez said. "I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've also been a little lucky." Jose Valdez walked in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and grounded out in the 7th. For the season, Valdez is currently batting .470 with 39 home runs and 140 RBIs. In 113 games he has reached base at a .548 rate and scored 167 runs to date. |
