Trujillo Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Long Island Friday, August 22nd , 2025 The Terra Linda Chargers lost to the Long Island Torpedoes, 7-6, at Centerville Grounds, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Jon Trujillo's 22-game hitting streak. The right fielder went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Trujillo, we would win the game," Torpedoes manager Moises Gonzalez explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This year, Trujillo is batting .388 with 11 home runs. |
