McFarland Hit Streak Reaches 57 Games

Bobby McFarland has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 18-year-old Jacksonville Nationals second baseman extended his streak to 57 games, going 1-for-3 as Jacksonville got the best of the Riverside Wolverines at Wolverines Ballpark, 5-3.
"Bobby has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Nationals manager Zack Glomski said. Bobby McFarland flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and walked in a run in the 7th.
Looking at his season stats, McFarland has compiled a .510 batting average and a .572 on-base percentage, while hitting 25 home runs and driving in 89 runs.
