Super Swinger -- Wahlert Slams 5 Hits Saturday, August 9th , 2025 No matter what the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates threw at him, Jarrod Wahlert hit it. He easily handled Pirates pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Cubs triumph, 21-8, at Franklin Park. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Wahlert's quip, Pirates skipper Bryan Crockett said he "would take him up on that next time." Jarrod Wahlert hit a two-run home run off Efrain Baez in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th and hit an RBI single in the 5th.
