McFarland Stretches Hit String to 47

The Jacksonville Nationals stopped the Buckeye Local Panthers, 17-3, and Bobby McFarland collected a base hit yet again. The Jacksonville second baseman finished with 3 hits to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 47.
"I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited McFarland told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Bobby McFarland hit a two-run home run off Xiao-mei Wu in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
This season in 47 games, McFarland has hit at a .515 clip with 102 hits, 23 home runs, 77 RBIs and 64 runs scored.
