Season Possibly Over for Hisato Morita Sunday, August 3rd , 2025 The doctors have spoken and Hisato Morita of the Chuluota Imperials didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Morita sustained his season-ending injury during the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes game yesterday at Imperials Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Chuluota medical staff reported Morita had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 months. This year, Morita has worked 94.2 innings with 37 strikeouts en route to a 0-13 record and 7.80 ERA. |
