McFarland Runs Hit String to 46 Straight Games Saturday, August 2nd , 2025 The red-hot Bobby McFarland is riding high with a 46-consecutive-game hitting streak and is drawing a lot of attention at the ballpark and in the press. The 18-year-old second baseman continued the streak at Nationals Park with 2 hits in 3 at-bats as the Jacksonville Nationals got the best of the Buckeye Local Panthers, 22-11. "It's great," Jacksonville manager Zack Glomski said. "The guys are having fun hitting in front of him and behind him, the fans are having fun watching him. It's been fun and exciting. Not only here, but baseball fans everywhere appreciate what is going on right now, and it has everyone on the edge of their seats wondering what he is going to do." Bobby McFarland singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a sac fly in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. At present, McFarland is batting .513 and has collected 22 home runs, 74 RBIs, .572 OBP and scored 61 runs. |
