Hit Streak Now at 45 for McFarland

Jacksonville Nationals second baseman Bobby McFarland was beaming after his team finished beating the Buckeye Local Panthers, 14-8, at Nationals Park. McFarland contributed 2 hits to the victory and extended his hitting streak to 45 games.
"Life is good when the hits keep coming like they have in the last few weeks," he said at his postgame press conference. "I hope I can keep it up a little while longer." Bobby McFarland grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
A look at his season totals shows McFarland with 22 home runs, .511 BA, .569 OBP, 72 RBIs and 59 runs scored.
