Whitby's Criscuolo Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Thursday, July 31st , 2025
Whitby Bats shortstop Jake Criscuolo had a day to remember at Eláguila Stadia, ripping apart the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates and sparking the 14-3 Bats win.
Criscuolo wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Criscuolo told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Jake Criscuolo doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Omar Garza in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and tripled in the 8th.
Criscuolo is currently hitting .491 with 19 home runsand 52 RBIs, while scoring 60 runs.
