Whitby's Criscuolo Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Thursday, July 31st , 2025 Whitby Bats shortstop Jake Criscuolo had a day to remember at Eláguila Stadia, ripping apart the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates and sparking the 14-3 Bats win. Criscuolo wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Criscuolo told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Jake Criscuolo doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Omar Garza in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and tripled in the 8th.
