McFarland Has 44-Game Hitting Streak Thursday, July 31st , 2025 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Bobby McFarland did it again, bashing 2 hits in the contest at Field of the Sunchasers. For the last 44 games in a row, the 18-year-old second baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Jacksonville Nationals beat the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers, 17-6. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," McFarland told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Jacksonville clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Bobby McFarland walked in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Cortez Alavez in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. This season, McFarland is batting at a .508 clip with 21 home runs and 71 RBIs. |
