Rodriguez Sensational, 5-for-6
Tuesday, August 27th , 2024
The Terra Linda Chargers stopped the Franklin Cubs by a score of 12-1 at Ballpark of Plantersville, with the lion's share of the credit going to shortstop Raul Rodriguez. The 20-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Rodriguez said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Rodriguez did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Cubs.
"Not much that I can say," offered Franklin manager Kerry McElree. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Raul Rodriguez doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
Posting a .323 batting average to date, Rodriguez has 14 home runs and 43 RBIs.
