3 Boomers for Gonzalez Saturday, August 29th , 2026 Jim Gonzalez went yard three times in a Tiverton Colonels victory over the Plymouth Rockers at Field of the Colonels. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Tiverton left fielder went 4-for-5 against Plymouth with 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Colonels to the 14-2 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Jim Gonzalez hit a solo-shot off Juan Galvan in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Juan Galvan in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Willie Salcedo in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. Currently Gonzalez is hitting .403 and has collected 41 home runs, 132 RBIs and scored 131 times, while playing in 119 games. |
