Jimenez Blasts 3 out of the Park Saturday, August 29th , 2026 Borrego Springs Rams first baseman Jesus Jimenez sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates, Jimenez told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Jimenez pushed the Rams past the Pirates, 9-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 8 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Jimenez told reporters after the game. Jesus Jimenez struck out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Omar Pitti in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Roberto Aburto in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Roberto Aburto in the 6th and struck out in the 7th. This year, Jimenez is batting .367 with 80 hits and 27 home runs. He has scored 71 times and has batted in 89 runs. |
