Ortega Boosts Hit Streak to 30 Games Friday, August 28th , 2026 Luis Ortega ran his hitting streak to 30 straight games at Club Circle Park, when he collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Borrego Springs Rams dropped the game, 11-6, to the Moncton Mounties. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Ortega said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Luis Ortega doubled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th and struck out in the 7th. For the season, Ortega has produced 143 hits in 279 at-bats for a .513 average with 33 home runs and gotten on base at a .577 clip. |
