Armstrong Belts Bunch of Base Hits Monday, August 17th , 2026 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Jake Armstrong of the Crystal Lake Killers had one of those moments when he went 5-for-7 at the plate in his team's 23-5 win over the Chuluota Imperials at Imperials Ballpark. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 21-year-old left fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Jake Armstrong doubled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
