Jacksonville Stops Neubaum Hit Streak
Monday, August 10th , 2026
San Antonio first baseman Adam Neubaum came into today's game against the Jacksonville Nationals on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.
The Nationals did their jobs well, beating the San Antonio Griffins, 18-4, and holding Neubaum hitless to snap his 27-game hitting streak. The 18-year-old first baseman had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-2, telling reporters only that he "came up short."
"What Adam did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Griffins manager James Beatty. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 27 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."
This year, Neubaum has socked 76 hits in 190 at-bats for a .400 average with 9 home runs. He is getting on base at a .434 pace and his totals also include 41 RBIs and 47 runs scored.
