Martinez Tags 3 HR Against Archers Monday, August 10th , 2026 Eli Martinez was in a home run mode at Chupacabras Stadium. The Terra Linda right fielder massacred Archers pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. Abingdon won the ballgame, 6-5, despite the three homers. "I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose." Nonetheless, Martinez will now have a place in the league record book. "I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today." Eli Martinez flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Juan Chavez in the 9th. So far this year, Martinez is batting .356 with 11 home runs. |
